YHACS visits Bradford for its Autumn meeting

Posted on 10 January 2018 by Peter Cooper

Si Cunningham, chair, Bradford Civic Society, welcomed members to Bradford and to the magnificent Banqueting Hall in the City Hall. Earlier in the day members had the opportunity to visit Sunbridge Wells which recently won a Civic Voice Design Award.

Our chairman, Kevin Trickett, reviewed the Hornsea meeting with a summary of the benefits of YHACS membership with networking coming top. Guest speakers were Barry Lerner who gave an illustrated presentation on the improvement schemes for Bradford Becks, Kate Walham who updated members on the Odeon project and Margaret Hicks Clark who gave a presentation on Goole Civic Society's latest project, a video promoting their town. Members heard the latest news from Civic Voice presented by their chair, Joan Humble and a report from Helen Kidman on the Civic Voice Regional Forum. A new item on the agenda was 'Just a Minute' where members were encouraged to report on the activities of their societies for sixty seconds. For a full account of the meeting please go to the minutes of the meeting in the publications section.
